Greg and Kate have moved to Manhattan after twenty-two years of child-raising in the suburbs. Greg’s career as a financial trader is winding down, while Kate’s career, as a public-school English teacher, is beginning to offer her more opportunities. Greg brings home a dog he found in the park—or that has found him—bearing only the name “Sylvia” on her name tag. A street-smart mixture of Lab and poodle, Sylvia becomes a major bone of contention between husband and wife. The marriage is put in serious jeopardy until, after a series of hilarious and touching complications, Greg and Kate learn to compromise, and Sylvia becomes a valued part of their lives.

Covid-19 Safety Protocols for Live Performances

Effective immediately, and in concordance with guidelines issued by the State of Kentucky, Village Players will require masking for patrons and crew regardless of vaccination or test-result status for all live performances until further notice. Concessions will be limited to bottled water, though patrons may bring covered, outside snacks (non-alcoholic) to enjoy outside of the performance space before the show and during intermission.

Masks must be worn correctly, covering both the mouth and nose, while inside the building and during the entirety of each performance. Village Players reserves the right to revoke admission to any performance at any point for lack of adherence to this policy. Our first priority is the safety and well-being of our cast, crew, volunteers, and patrons.
